Description:  In this Summer Tree ID Workshop (Zoom Session) we will attempt to teach participants how to identify trees in the summer condition.  We will cover all the major trees or any tree that you are likely to encounter on a walk in the woods in Georgia. The emphasis will be on native trees. Identification will be accomplished mainly using leaves, leaf arrangement and possibly twigs, bark and fruit if available.  You may wish to purchase Native Trees of the Southeast by L. Katherine Kirkman, Claud L. Brown and Donald J. Leopold or the older version, Trees of Georgia and Adjacent States by Claud L. Brown and L. Katherine Kirkman, and Plant Identification Terminology by James G Harris and Melinda Woolf Harris (2nd Edition). These purchases are optional, not required. Keys will be e-mailed to participants.
