Description:   We will explore the 10 acre McIntosh County private property that includes Florabundance Gardens Native Plant Nursery, its perennial wildscape gardens, surrounding marsh edge, undisturbed wetland forests, three ponds and open fields.   We expect abundant natural and planted native fall pollinator plants in bloom and a rich diversity of native trees and understory plants in the forest.   Participants will see a diversity of plants communities in a small easy to access area of coastal edge property.

You can expect to learn a broad overview of the local habitat and see a working native plant nursery. The amount of fine scale plant identification will depend on who from the society joins this trip. Botanists proficient in ID are welcome and encouraged to attend in order to assist with botanizing during the exploration.

Participants can tour the nursery and shop if desired.  We will gather for lunch near the home and nursery areas.

Location and Directions:   This is a private property located off highway 99 in Darien.   Directions will be sent upon registration.

Bathroom Facilities:  Available.

Walking Difficulty:  Easy walk with clear trails and dirt road system; off trail access to explore forest areas is easy and may include wet areas.
